Set up an email program to use encrypted communication on devices - iPhone, iPad, and iPod
To set the email program for iPhone, iPad , or iPod to use an alternate port 465 for the SMTP email protocol, follow these steps:
Open Settings.
From the Settings list, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Select the SMTP server you want to modify.
Make sure that the SSL option is enabled, then enter the port number 465.
Go to Mail and try sending and receiving messages.
